The Black-headed Ibis (Threskiornis melanocephalus) is a large, white wading bird with a distinctive black head and neck, found across South and Southeast Asia, known for foraging in diverse wetlands and agricultural fields, probing mud with its long, curved bill for insects, crustaceans, frogs, fishes, worms and rodents similar to other resident and migratory waterbirds found in West Malaysia.
It is uncommon visitor or passage migrant throughout the west coastal area of West Malaysia, with only a few records for Seberang Perai, mostly juveniles.
