Least Concern

The Blue-throated Bee-eaters in Southeast Asia are known for their stunning bright blue throats, green bodies, chestnut crowns, and acrobatic aerial insect-catching skills (bees, dragonflies).

In Seberang Perai it is supposedly a breeding visitor, although birds have been known to stay year round. It prefers to nest on sandy ground or sandbank, river embankment, and even occasionally a sand mount of a hardware shop selling sand.
