The Great Egret is a large, all-white heron found globally in shallow, freshwater, and marine wetlands. Known for its yellow bill, black legs, and slow, deliberate hunting style, it feeds on fish, amphibians, and reptiles. They may show a slight preference for coastal mudflats, although they are found all over other wetlands an marshland, and man-made wetlands like paddyfield and detention and sewage ponds.
Great Egrets are known to build tree nests in colonies, in Seberang Perai, and other areas of West Malaysia, often alongside other species like Little Egrets, Cattle Egrets, Purple Heorons and Grey Herons, and Black Crowned Nightheron.
