Least Concern

The Siamese Pied Starling is a medium-sized, highly vocal, black-and-white bird found in SE Asian open habitats. It features a glossy black hood, mantle, and chest, contrasting with white underparts, a white nape, and a white stripe above the eye. Distinctive features include a long, yellow-based bill with orange-red skin around the eye.

The Siamese Pied Starling, formerly considered part of the Asian Pied Starling complex, is an introduced species established in West Malaysia, Perlis, Kedah and Penang State. Known for its striking black-and-white plumage and loud, melodic calls, favoring open, cultivated, and disturbed habitats near human habitation. There are breeing records of it on the Island, and presumably Seberang Perai where it is fairly common in all Districts.
