Brownish with pale spots on its back, sometimes known as “well marked” white belly, distinctive white brow, and greenish-yellow legs. Nearly always in fresh water habitat only in Malaysia or their wintering grounds. Mostly appearing in singles or couples or small flocks of less than ten. Foraging in shallow water and fairly approachable.

Common throughout Seberang Perai but in small numbers.
