East Asian-Australasian Flyway (EAAF) CEBU, MOP 12

Malaysian Nature Society, Penang Branch is proud to be part of the Malaysian government delegation to the 12th Meeting of Partners in Cebu Philippines from 9th – 14th November 2025. Penang State was represented by Tuan Wan Ghazali, Deputy Director, Penang State Dept of Forestry.

The Head of Delegation was Encik Muhammad Syazwan bin Adzhar from NRE-S, Perhilitan was represented by Encik Ahmad Khusaini Bin Mohd Kharip Shah, and Sarawak was headed by Puan Noraisah Majri, and MNS Kuching Branch by Miss Rose Au.

Malaysian Nature Society was headed by Dr Yeap Chin Aik, and the rest of her conservation staff.

Tan Choo Eng, MNS Penang Hon Secretary and Chairman of Bird Conservation Council presented a paper on our IBA My-003, Teluk Air Tawar – Kuala Muda Coast, and preparation of the Site Information Sheet submission for Flyway Site nomination.

We were also honored by the Secretariat of the Flyway Partnership and Birdlife International for MNS and Birdlife Asia to host a side event, entitled “Migratory Waterbird Conservation in Malaysia”- Updates, Lessons and Next Steps.

We acknowledged the Penang Branch for providing refreshments during this side event.
