Least Concern

A small brownish-grey squirrel with a reddish/orange belly and distinct black and white stripes along its sides, plus a long, bushy tail.
Found in forests, landward mangroves, parks, gardens, orchard, plantations areas across Southeast Asia, it is well-adapted to semi-urban environments.
Its diet is primarily fruits (like rambutan, jackfruit, durians), but also insects, bird eggs, and sometimes even small vertebrates.

It is diurnal (active during the day), agile, and often seen in trees sometimes in a stupor when muching on fruits or barks. It is considered as an agriculture pest by durian orchards owners, although it plays its part in the birodiversity of our natural and manmade habiatat, serving as prey animals for predators like the Changeable Hawk Eagle, Blyths Hawk Eagle, Crested Goshawk and Barred Eagle-owl.
