It is a large, strong mammal and is the ancestor of the domestic pig.
Appearance: Stocky body, coarse dark fur, short legs, and a large head with prominent tusks.
It is Omnivorous — it eats roots, tubers, fruit, insects, small animals, and even carrion.
Wild boars are intelligent and adaptable. They are mostly nocturnal due to hunting and disturbance, although it is fould throught the day also. and live in groups called sounders (usually females and young). Very adaptable and found in all type of habitat.

One of the main distiguishing feature from the domestic pig is the black mane on its back. It can be very dangerous when encountred or cornered or when with young. It should be avoided and give them enough space to wander off.
