Zebrias zebra

The Zebra sole has an oval, flattened body with prominent black and white or dark and light brown stripes that extend onto its dorsal and anal fins. It has both eyes on its right side.
Habitat: It is a benthic marine species, meaning it lives on the seafloor. It is found in the shallow coastal waters of the Indo-Pacific, typically on sandy or muddy bottoms near seagrasses.
Behavior: The fish often buries itself in the sand for camouflage. It moves slowly along the bottom by undulating its fins. Some species in the Zebrias genus are known to be toxic, a defense mechanism against predators.
